By subscribing to or purchasing from The Wandering Words, you agree to the terms below. Please read them carefully.
Subscriptions
The Wandering Words offers 6-month and 12-month subscription plans. Subscriptions are ongoing and will renew at the end of each term unless paused or canceled.
Each mailing includes three original short stories delivered to the mailing address you provide. Mailings ship at the beginning of each month and typically arrive by mid-month, depending on postal delivery times.
Auto-renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each term using the payment method on file. We’ll send a renewal reminder email before your subscription renews. You can cancel or make changes to your subscription any time before the renewal date.
Shipping
The Wandering Words currently ships to U.S. addresses only. We are not able to ship internationally at this time.
Pausing your subscription
You may pause your subscription at any time. Pause requests must be submitted before the cutoff date for the upcoming month to take effect for that mailing.
Updating your mailing address
You can update your mailing address at any time through your subscriber account. Address changes must be submitted before the monthly cutoff date to be reflected in your next mailing.
Transferring subscriptions
Subscriptions may be transferred to a new mailing address or a new recipient by contacting us or updating your subscriber account. Transfer requests must be submitted before the monthly cutoff date to take effect for the next mailing. Transfers do not extend or restart your subscription term.
Canceling your subscription
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your subscriber account or by contacting us. Cancellation requests must be submitted before the monthly cutoff date to stop the next mailing from being charged and shipped. Canceling ends your subscription going forward; it does not provide a refund for mailings already shipped, since each issue is a limited print run.
If you’d rather someone else continue receiving your remaining issues instead of canceling, you can transfer your subscription — see “Transferring subscriptions” above.
Payment issues
If a renewal payment fails, we’ll attempt to process it again and will reach out to update your payment information. If payment isn’t successfully completed, your subscription may be paused or canceled until the issue is resolved.
Price changes
We may update subscription pricing from time to time. Price changes will not affect an active subscription term already paid for, but may apply at your next renewal. We’ll do our best to notify you of any pricing changes in advance.
Gift subscriptions
Gift subscriptions can be set up at checkout for a recipient of your choosing.
Lost or damaged mailings
If your mailing is lost or arrives damaged, please contact us. While postal issues are outside our control, we will always do our best to make it right.
Returns and final sale
Because each issue is a limited print run, all sales are final once a mailing has shipped. If your issue arrives damaged or incomplete, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we will replace it or make it right.
Story exclusivity (for authors)
Stories featured in The Wandering Words are original and exclusive to us for a limited period. After that period ends, authors are free to publish their work elsewhere.
Inklings submission contest
Submissions to the Inklings contest are subject to a non-refundable entry fee, which helps cover judging and administrative costs. Entries are reviewed by a panel of judges based on storytelling quality, originality, and fit with The Wandering Words. Submission guidelines, eligibility requirements, and deadlines will be posted during each open submission window.
Entrants under 18 must have the consent of a parent or guardian to submit.
Privacy
Information about how we collect, use, and protect your personal information is available in our Privacy Policy.
Limitation of liability
The Wandering Words is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your subscription or use of our products. Our liability in any case is limited to the amount paid for the mailing or subscription in question.
Right to refuse or terminate service
We reserve the right to refuse, pause, or cancel a subscription at our discretion, including in cases of suspected fraud, abuse, or repeated chargebacks.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Severability
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining terms will continue in full effect.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent revision.
